Lost But Not FoundA Story by Maddie
Have you ever wondered why people say things that they don't mean? Literally speaking, of course. When somebody dies, people come up with strange ways of treading around the topic. "I'm sorry for your loss". They're not lost, because if they're dead, then they can never be found. They're not gone, because if they're dead then they can never come back. And no matter how many rituals, candles, hymns, prayers or tears that you go through, all that is left is an empty space. No treading around the topic anymore. All that is left is a big empty space where that person should have been. Could have been, even. And nothing can change that.
