every single day
im locked inside my cage
yearning to be free
signin with so much pain
in the words i say
still u dont hear me
feelin so hollow
and full of sorrow
wanderin aimlessly
now i
know why
the caged bird sings

constantly feelin
trapped within this skin
that restrains me
reached the limit of what i can take
i just wanna break
i wanna end it instantaneously
i just wanna spread my wings
and forget everything
but thats an impossibility
now i
know why
the caged bird sings

for the words that i sing
though they dont mean a thing
are my only source of stability
cus when deep down inside
i feel like i wanna die
they take me away from reality
to a place with no tears to cry
where i can fly
completely carelessly
now i
