The past

"
Don’t look back, keep looking forward;
That’s what I always thought.
I tried to dig up the grave.
Nostalgia, I thought you were my friend.
I wish to unsee the things I forgot,
But the past that I crave
Will only lead to a dead end.
I can’t get so hung up,
Or I will lose the present
And fail to make amends.

There's an episode of South Park, I think it's called "remember berries", this poem reminds of that pretty directly. Well done. You're doing it well when your writing brings things like that to mind.
