A random mind spill while under the effect of depression

UNDER THE INFLUENCE

So dear to me are the days when it is just a struggle,
For to wake up and face the battle, is now without motivation
Worse still are the summer days,
haunting more than winter, for the fear of loss
yet in the midst of winter there is nothing to lose

Despite the change of season the year rolls on,
as must I, and these demons tag along like a child’s toy pulled by a string
For pulled I am without want or cause, from season to season.
Yet worse is the never knowing which season the leaves might fall
When comes the rot, the snap and the fall

So dear to me are the days when it is just a struggle,
For to wake up and face the battle, is now without motivation
Worse still are the summer days,

yet in the midst of winter there is nothing to lose

There it is, the repeat to be simply bared
Season to season, like a minute to a minute
like a random tossed comment to keep faith
like a penny to a homeless man's hat
Like this every second, even when not felt

So dear to me are the days when it is just a struggle,
A struggle I will take, for there is no fight worth fighting
Like the sun and the moon fighting over shadows
Like the stones spilled from a wall to erode on the beach
No foundation, just there at the mercy of the tides.
