Fathersday

A poem I wrote for my Father

I know today is Fathersday
And all I can say is, “Thanks, enjoy your day.”
But deep inside, it’s not what I meant
I just don’t know where to start

For all the time you’ve spent
For all the lessons I’ve learnt
For all the love and things you do
There’s no way I could ever repay you

Pieces of paper that end up in the bin
Is not my way of telling you how I feel
Because you are more than that
You are my one and only dad

I know we’re busy and time is not always enough
But we’re bonded by blood; our love is tough
Know that I never cease to think
That you love me every time you blink

So may this day bring something more
Heal us from our stress and sore
And by all this, I just meant to say
I love you Daddy, Happy Fathersday!
