Do Not Judge My Feelings

For people who judge the emotions and thoughts in poems

You are free to judge my rhythm and rhyme
The way in which I structure my lines
The words I choose, the adjectives I use
And the many contests that I may lose

But you cannot dare to judge my feelings
Or tell my which to resort to as healings
You cannot tell me which thoughts to change
Because they are mine, they are what I create

I am but a human and I make mistakes
But my emotions are not faults
They are natural occuring human nature
So accept them or judge me not

There is a lot of truth in this poem. I agree with you that no one should tell you how to feel or how to construct your feelings. Rhythm and rhyme are one thing because that is the rendering of the feeling. One can help strengthen the articulation of a feeling in writing, but its just not right to tell someone to bend to one line of though.
