I Don't Know What To Write

I don’t know what to write
Because what I say is never right
But yet it’s never wrong either
It just doesn’t suit their opinion

So what must I do?
Write for me and you
Or write for them?
Just to get the money and fame?

But doesn’t that miss the point?
Isn’t this what I’m supposed to enjoy?
A poem is not about the external structure
It’s about the depths of my heart, my true nature

I can write about something simple
And decorate it with fancy vocabulary
People will say it’s brilliant
Only because they can’t understand the poetry

But that’s not me
I’m an artist, I just want to be free
I want people to like my work
Because they can connect to the sentiment

And now I dare give this to you
Hoping that you will like this too
Because this is how I feel
This is honest and real

Now this is chock full of honesty and gives your reader pause to reflect on their own experiences. I really think you did a great job with this.

Writing, like all forms of art is subjective to it's reader/viewer. There will never be a time when your work pleases everyone. We all want praise and maybe a little recognition too for the creative work we put forth for others to see. But it is your creation. No other can truly judge the worthiness of your artistic vision. This is something only you can do.

I am nameless because I want to be anonymous. I suppose I love being honest - especially with my poetry - and I am afraid of people judging me as a person, if they read my poetry.
Here, I can be whoever I want to be and no one that has met me face to face will ever know it was me.
I can make mistakes and it won't matter.
