Trusty Delight

Trusty Delight

A Poem by Shannon
"

breaking through the ever looming wall of writers block.

"
Take my hand
Love while you can
Forget what they say
Run away with me
we'll save the day

and take my heart
hold it close to you
show me the wonders
show me the times
show me your love is true

 hold my trust
protect it well
yes you can take it
but please oh don't break it

something i give of my own free will
will shine in the darkest hour
whisper secrets in listening ears
Show you the key to life
unlock you from mortal strife
Baby there's nothing to fear

And then someday
Perhaps you'll come back my way
And if its still in one piece
Then all of our troubles shall cease

And we'll hold each other close
as our hearts beat as one
Whispering and giggling
Who knew trust could be so fun?

Beautiful write. Touching, I think I know where you got the inspiration for this. I especially like the last stanza.

I like how the rhyming scheme moves around at times but what I really like is the intelligent and wise -if not cynical- understanding of how trust and relationships work.

Subtly thought-provoking, yet bordering on sweet.
