Masters of imperfection

Masters of imperfection

A Poem by Shannon

Who i am, hates who i have to pretend to be.
what has this world come to, when I can't just be me?
Like a fleeting shadow, my individuality will flee
Before the prying, judging eyes of society
open up your eyes! Can you not see?
Take a good look at yourself, and i can guarantee
That with my opinion, you will agree
Because this world was not meant for you and me
This world is for the perfect, not for the free
And what an empty world it will be
Since most have mastered imperfection perfectly

This does describe our world today. So much power behind it. Everyone would have to agree that our world and what we do inside of it is imperfect. Although I'm not so sure those people could put it so well into words as you have. It seems no one can survive in this world unless they know the truth, which you have cleary stated here: No one is perfect. Very nice write.

It doesn't feel finished. I think you should try to add a little more to it. Great write with an even greater message! :)

I like the rhyme scheme, it's certainly different. It all flows together very nicely. It seems finished to me, but you should continue if there's more to tell.

Good write. The inner battle between being who you want to be with fitting in. With growth you can find the balance between the two.

This poem is totally in line with what I have been saying: people suck, be who you want to be

I like this poem. Good social commentary. Very forceful and blunt. You have a several "i"'s needing to be capitalized, but otherwise your grammar/spelling is great. The flow is good too, there are a few parts where it treads on being awkward but not quite. I really enjoyed reading this, thanks for sharing.
