Spiderweb Lace

Spiderweb Lace

A Poem by Shannon

I stitched a gown
Of spiderweb lace

And dusted black glitter
On my hair and face

At the howl of the wolf
The bats gave chase

And the flutter of wings
Set my heart a-race

I ran with the moon
And danced with the stars

Keeping beat on hallowed ground
Far from home sand cars

But the sight of a man
Set my blood afire

And carried my evanescent joy
a trifle higher

He called me a goddess
I called him a liar

As we danced together
In our graveyard empire

The ending leaves you hanging but its nice because it makes you crave more you probably won't get (Yeah its a good thing I promise). Through this entire piece the imagery is vivid.
