How easily, a flashback can trigger a panic attack.

Why
Do I feel so weak
When people tell me
I am strong
And courageous?

Cowering
Within the walls
Of my apartment.

Scared
Of loud noises
Like a little child
Hiding away
In my bedroom.

Wishing
The noise
To disappear.

As
The rising anxiety
Borders upon
A panic attack.

Thus
Your heroine
Lies.
