Vanishing Act

Working out some negative thoughts, at the time.

Small
Light flickered
Before her face
Etching the inner struggle
Upon her fragile body.

Tears
Of emotional
And physical abuse
Had left behind.

Where
Food had become
A weapon of mass destruction.

Alternating
Between binge eating
And periods of starvation.

Reinforcing
Already negative image
Of herself.

Like
A candle burning
At both ends

Slowly
Disappearing
From sight.

Until
Only a burnt out wick
Exist.
