Nature's Curse

Nature's Curse

A Poem by therisa
"

What never can be.

"

See
That look
Within your eyes
Which you try
So hard to hide
From me.

One
That questions
My sanity
For even wanting
To experience
This.

Which
No matter
How much changes
Occurs in my body
Will never experience
This.

Nature's
Rite of passage
Denied to me
By a cruel twist
Of fate.

In
Being born
With the wrong set
Of chromosomes
In my body.

While
My soul mourns
And rebels
By expressing
My true gender.

Yet
I push ahead
In my struggle to
Correct this
Genetic error
In my body.

Until
Finally
My body reflects
The true essence
Of my soul.
