Shivering

I lay

In my bed.

 

Trying

To will myself

Out.

 

Nothing moves

Except my chest

In an up and down

Motion.

 

As

Time's passage

Is marked by

The changing digits

On my bedside clock.

 

Slowly

I manage to

Move my body.

 

Every

Centimeter moved

A struggle to

Survive.

Telling myself

Over and over.
