Anxiety Attack

Anxiety Attack

A Poem by therisa

Thought
I had you
Under control.

No
longer
To be plagued
By your existence.

Yet
I was wrong
Again.

With
You holding power
Trapping me
Within my apartment
Scared to leave
Its safety.

Just
Thinking
About leaving
Sets my heart aflutter
In a negative way.

Cringing
At the thought
Of being near
Other people.

If even
For a few seconds
When walking by.

Know
This is
Not rational
But the reality
Facing me.
