One Of Those Days

When self-doubt reigns.

There

Are days

Which this feeling

Consumes my soul.

 

As

A little voice

Tells me

"I am not worthy

Of anything."

 

Where

The littlest thing

Becomes

An almost impossible task

To do.

 

Know

This voice is

Lying to me.

 

But feel

So powerless

Against it.

 

Like

A small child

Asking a parent

For their permission.

 

When

None is

In needed.

 

Like

Today.

I like the simplicity; i would like to read some more description of the feeling.. maybe something more than a child asking for permission.. something more raw. I enjoyed reading :)

Thank you, Cheese, for reading and commenting on my poem. At the time of writing this poem, the stanza is question, felt right to me. Next time, I write something like this, it maybe more raw and emotional. :)

the voice is lying to me-great thoughts
some days we are powerless against it but tomorrow today will add to our beliefs and character
asking a parent for unneeded permission there is a lot behind that thought

Your welcome, Holly. This poem was sparked by my reaching to a support group, who deal with abuse women. Not sure, if I fit into their mandate, given my gender status, at the moment.

they seem not but those maybe defense mechanisms*)

They're trying to reach out to the Trans community, so that's good sign, for now.

what a silly world
abuse is abuse no matter the situation but that is just me thinking
and they are trying and that is not just for you but law suits guide our country they may just want the best answers for your individual situation so the can guide with educated fingers*)

Holly, religion can and does play a huge role, in whom an organization will accept as an client to help. In Toronto, I know of a shelter that is funded by the Catholic Church, will not accept any transwomen.
