Decoding A Mystery

Decoding A Mystery

A Poem by therisa

As

I continue

On my journey

Towards womanhood.

Realize

I do not know

What it really means

To be a woman.

Mean

Beyond the standard

Curves breasts

And facial features

That everyone focus

Upon.

Which

Seems to be

Part of the universal

Definition

Of what a woman is.

Although

Born a male

People tell me

My behaviour

And reactions are

That of a woman.

Is this

A learned behaviour

Or innately

A part of my soul

From birth?

Which

Society has trouble

Accepting

Given my birth gender.

Where

Subtle differences are

More pronounced

And noticeable

By the experienced

Eye.
