The Slow Grind

The Slow Grind

A Poem by therisa

Oh mom

Why do I feel

Like I have failed

You?

These tears

Which you see

Flowing down my face

Are those

Of being rejected.

Your

Rejection

Of my feminine body

Over the masculine one

That I was born

In.

Know

You are trying

To accept this

But your body language

Says otherwise.

Want

So badly

To explain my need

For transitioning

To you.

But

I know

You are not ready

To hear

Why.

Sigh.

Even

After six years

Since learning

Of my transsexual

Nature.
