Laying A Ghost To Rest

Laying A Ghost To Rest

A Poem by therisa

What

Made me

So special

For You

To bully me?

By

Making my life

A living Hell

For years

Afterwards?

Where

Certain sounds

Or sights triggered

Brutal PTSD flashbacks

For me.

Forcibly

Changing my personality

And behaviour

Around other people

As a protective

Measure.

Bet

You do not

Even remember me

After all these years

Do you?

Beyond

A blurry memory

From so long ago

When we shared

The fifth grade.

Well

It is time

For me

To reclaim my memories

For myself.

Am

So tired

Living my life

Under your shadow

Of fear.

Wish

I could say

"It's nice

To meet you

But I would be lying

So F**k off!"
