How someone

Who claims to a Christian

Is filled with hate

To a fellow human being?

In

Denying them

The same human rights

And protection

Which they enjoy

Themselves.

Does

This not contradict

One of the tenets

That Christians base

Their belief

Upon?

"Do unto others

What they do

Unto you..."

That

We are

All created

Equally.

As

One of the most

Holiest weekend

For Christians

Draws near.

Canada's Trans-community

Was not fully protected

Under Canada's Charter of Rights

And hate laws.

Which

Prime Minister Harper

Voted against

On third and final reading

Of the bill.

Who

Proclaims himself

A Christian.

Yet

His words and actions

Constantly

Paints my community

As pariahs.

How

Can a person

Espouse these views

And hold everyone

With true love

In his heart.

Wish

I knew.

Oops, I forgotten that the Senate (the upper chamber packed with unelected Conservative Party backers) can defeat this historical bill. Thus, restoring Canada, back to the status quo, of inequality for the transcommunity.

Some Christains are frauds. Such things used to infuriate me. Lived as a gay man for 20 years. Once had a Christian woman come up to me and my boyfriend at the time, saying hateful things. The audacity. Good read and write, btw:)
