Not Just A Four Letter Word

Not Just A Four Letter Word

A Poem by therisa

Hope

A four letter

Which seems

So distanced

And foreign

At times.

Like

An alien world

Where life is

So strange

To me.

As

I struggle

With self-esteem

And self-confidence.

Knowing

Within myself

A person exist.

Full

Of compassion

And understanding

Of other's needs.

Despite

A past filled

With violence

And hatred.

Thank you, Matthew, but there are days, which I find myself, hiding away, inside my apartment.

Matthew, I suffer from chronic depression, which isn't always treatable with meds.
sometimes we do feel like a stranger in our own life...a stranger in our own skin...

but despite the environment and those violent influences...there could be a peaceful us inside...there is hope in this poem.

nice stuff.
