ConcertA Poem by therisaSins of my youth.Close My eyes Find myself Lost and entrapped Within your sweet melody. A Sinful confectionery Bound to give A healthy person Diabetes. With It's decadence Taste. Yet So helpless To pull away Without losing My soul. As Your lead guitarist Skilfully plays On my heartstrings With his callused fingers Driving the song. Carrying me To rarefied heights Only imaged Before. While My heart threatens To explode From the pounding Verse. Never Wanting it To end Yet end It must. As Those most dreadful Of words Are uttered: "Good-bye And thank you." Leaving me Crushed and exhausted In my soaking wet clothes Anxiously waiting For the next show. © 2013 therisa |
