42A Poem by therisaSixty-six years ago A brave man named Jackie Robinson Strolled forth. Into The public spotlight By breaking Baseball's colour barrier. I will not pretend To understand The societal pressure He faced. As My birthdate is Still twenty-three years Away. But I do know What it feels like To be hated Because Who you are. Challenging How society views A segment Of its population In a positive way. Leading the way For those Who will follow By example. Thank you Mr Robinson For advancing The Civil Rights cause For all. © 2013 therisaReviews
