Gaining Freedom By One mm, AT A TimeA Poem by therisaThought Raking over old coals Would reopen wounds Long left unhealed. Bringing back In vivid colour These haunting memories Tuck away In my mental vault. Yet Strangely I feel lighten. As if An invisible elephant Had been removed From my shoulders With each typed word. Purifying myself Of the septic pus Carried over the years Since November 2005. I know The effort needed To speak these words Would be Herculean. Even to those I considered Close friends. As my mental defences Engage themselves Shutting out Everyone. Still I know A little good goes A long way. So Please be patience With this healing soul. © 2013 therisa |
