It's She/Her, Not He/Him
A Poem by therisa
My reaction to someone, who continued to address with male pronouns, after being told otherwise, on-line.
Wish I could share How your words hurt In choosing them Like you have. Ripping out A small piece Of my heart With each letter Typed. In the shrillness Of your exasperated response To my mild correction Saddens me. How one can take Such an ignorance stance After being educated Otherwise. Forcing me To re-evaluate How far Real change has come. Given the deep embodiment Of transphobia Within society.

I can only reiterate that who you are is between you and your God. No one else's OPINION matters. Just keep in mind what they say about "opinions!"
NOTES: In the third stanza, it should be "[Saddens] me." You might want to revisit your verb tense choices in the fourth stanza.
