That Longing Bond

Knowing

My fate has
Made it impossible
For me.

Taking a long look

At mothers

And their children

Passing me

With their strollers.

Imagining myself

In their shoes.

Celebrating each birthday

With a special longing

Which grows

Every year.

May this day
Forever be
One of love
And celebration
Of a bond.

Between
A mother
And her daughter.

Something

Forever denied

To my mom

And I.

Much to

My eternal sorrow.
