How I long
To wipe away
These tears
Which stains society.

In replacing

This inner darkness
With the joys

Of hope and love.

Which

Too many people know
And dread.

Giving comfort
To those love ones
Who have fought
And lost this battle.

Having seen
The battlefield scars
Left behind.

Just one heartbeat
From here
And yet
So faraway.
