False Perceptions

All things occur
In cycles.

What
Was once strong
Now is weak.

Thus
The price
That must be paid
For a bill
Long past due.

As
The vibrant core is
Replaced by
A moral superiority.

Wallpapering
Over the cracks
Visible to everyone.

But 

The ruling elite.

Dining
So lavishly
As the country
Starves to death.
