As The Tears Drop
A Chapter by therisa
Can hear her As she cries At life's injustices She has endured In silence.
Wondering Who was suppose To save her From this?
When No one answered Her pleads For help.
You see I'm her Crawling out Into the light Decades later.
Scared But wanting to Embrace the light Without jumping At every single shadow Behind me.
Like a petrified child Lost In the local mall Looking for someone To trust But finding no one.
Knowing I can't stay here If I want to Continue my healing And bathe In the sunlight.

It's hard to carry the pain that's inside, sometimes it's pride, other times we may feel that no one would believe us. Or perhaps it's shame. Whatever it is, the healing always begins with tears, taking the next step after that is the difficult one.

And yes, I did try to speak, but no one would listen to me. August 14, 2015, will mark the 8th anniversary of my opening up and facing these memories, head on, after burying them, behind mental walls, for several decades.

That's the biggest shame then, that no one would listen. :-(
