A Grasp Away
A Poem by therisa
How I have felt, at times, being Trans.
An offshoot Tossed aside Upon life's scrapheap Left to fend For one's self.
Questioning What have I done To deserve this?
Brushing off The rotting banana peels And coffee grounds From the body In total disdain.
With bated breath Rushing to The bathroom To scrub The body clean.
Trying to remove A mortal stain Upon the human soul That never disappears.
No matter How hard One scrubs away At the body.
As the water Flows away Blood red Down the drain.
Intermixed With tears Of frustration And anger.
While The razor remains Sitting on The sink's edge For another day's use.

It's hard to stop beating yourself up when you feel you have done wrong. I know that feeling too well. Great poem, very captivating !

Thank you, Jacob. That razor has long be replaced, by several cousins, on the sink's edge.

Sadly, W.R., I have been chronically depressed, for most of my life.
