Mumbling, In The Wilderness
A Poem by therisa
Why Do some people Feel justified In using religion As a weapon Of hate?
In spewing Their venom All over Innocent victims Like myself.
What Do they fear About me?
Is it Because I'm different From their worldview That I scare them?
And yet Isn't religion suppose to Explain the world Around us?
While Being used As an instrument In the healing Of wounded soul During times of crisis And trauma.
How is You have strayed So far From your principles To become A hatemonger?
When You're suppose To be sharing A message of love And compassion?
If I knew Why.
Someone In Oslo Would want to nominate me For next year Noble peace prize.

Earlier today, on another writing site, I got a very nasty transphobic and homophobic comment, on one of my poems. This is, my response, to this person.

I think, these people are, so insecure, about themselves that they need a target to release their pent-up fears. And sadly, they feel guilt-free, in attacking, someone like myself. Can only hope, one day, these fears will disappear and everyone can live, in peace and understanding. Ok, am a big time dreamer, here. :)
