Two Of My Favourite Things

There are two things
I never get tired of
Waking up in the morning
To the sight
Of my growing breasts
Greeting me
Every morning.

The other thing is
Hearing other people
Calling me “Ma’am”
At the check out counter.

As a slow smile
Lights up my face
Chasing away the darkness.

Even if
Only for a few minutes
Is a huge step
For me.

Compared to
Where I was
Earlier in my life
As a man.

A period of my life
I rather erase
All of my memories
From then.

But the past is history
Time to embrace the present
Living my life
As a woman.

Knowing the future
Is mine
To write.
