Overachiever?

Why are people
So nervous
When I start talking
About suicide?

It is not
Like I am going
To kill myself
At that very moment
Of time.

Rather
An attempt
To talk
About my troubled past.

How
Before the age of 12
I had tried
At east twice
In my life
To end it.

Am not glorifying
What happened then
Which was a silent cry
For help
That went unanswered
By everyone.

Originally written August 12, 2010. Most transgender people, will attempt suicide, least once before their 20th birthday. Some succeed in taking their own lives. I do not have the magical answer, which will solve this carnage of young lives. Beyond giving the mental health community more involved in dealing with this issue.
