Ely Vermont October

Ely Vermont October

A Poem by Ralph S. DeMarco
"

A page of random poetry from an old journal

"

On a green-gold hill

facing transparent clouds

you corrected my spelling

In Vermont the eggs are larger

their yolks are a deeper orange

and the milk tastes different

because the cows eat Vermont grass

Around every turn there are farms

And there is a barn

where you can buy

nature's convenience food

inside an empty hay-floored closet

where you leave money

inside a rusty coffee can
