A hurt feeling is a whimpering dog

Limping on his broken paw

A hurt feeling is an innocent man

Sent to jail by false law

A hurt feeling is a starving family

Begging for a loaf of bread

A hurt feeling is an elder lady

Denied her daily meds

A hurt feeling is a baby crying

Lost in a world of covers

A hurt feeling is a woman screaming

Over her long dead lover
