A Poem by Jose Camacho

An angel cried to an empty heaven;
To a God no longer real.
A woman cried a tear of blood;
The angel was a mother.

An offering in exchange for a memory;
The power of a holy word.
"Amen my holy father."
A meaningless prayer was said aloud.

The angel's hope was lost.
The mother; no longer a believer.
Heaven never seemed so dead,
And a God never seemed so cruel.

A mother cried for mercy,
The angel inside her also wept.
The heavens blackened as she sang in pain,
A vengeful song of fear and hate.

The mother seemed to lose herself;
And angels begged for forgiveness.
A child writhed in puddles of remorse,
Both condemned by such abominable God.
