White Magic

White Magic

A Poem by Jose Camacho
"

A poem about drugs; Cocaine. The witch represents a "friend."

"
White Magic was in line.
A witch would soon betray me.
"Twenty Leaves, the spell is yours."
I had the magic in my hands.

I took the magic into my veins
And my eyes began to grow.
My heart ran for miles
And madness I became.

My body had become possessed
By the demons in the Streets.
Some would call the demons "Coca"
But I referred to it as magic.

At a quarter before noon,
The magic had passed.
Fear ran inside my veins
As my body laid on concrete grounds.

A woman came into my thoughts
And she introduced herself to me.
"Hello, my name's addiction.
Pretty soon we will be friends."

"Why have you come?" I asked.
"A witch has sent me your way."
When you find yourself alone and suffering,
Know that she has betrayed you.
