I Thirst for your Footsteps

I Thirst for your Footsteps

"
I long for the majestic
sunset of your hair,
windblown, dancing across my cheek…
The burnt orange and lavender…
I want to consume every drop.
I’m thirsty for your
footsteps near my bed, parched with
desire for your presence, your essence.
How long until you wet my
tongue, and quench this fire?
I stalk slumber like a shadow…
my only release from the
hunger and yearning for your
moist lips, like peaches
pressed against mine.

Sensual, oozes with sugar romance, takes the reader on a colorful ride. Poem flows smooth from start to end with every line piquing the interest more and more. Poetry in motion here. these lines stood out for me, "I stalk slumber like a shadow…
my only release from the
hunger and yearning for your
moist lips"
Thanks for sharing, Thomas. Enjoyed the write!

Wow, a surprising and tantalizing experience here. Lucky lady to have found you. There is a raw desire well expressed here about the yearning of presence. I hope you still have each other.

Thank you, Betty. I appreciate you.
Your poem is a beautiful and sensual expression of desire. I was immediately struck by the vivid imagery, especially the comparison of their hair to a "majestic sunset." The constant theme of hunger and thirst makes the longing feel so real and physical. It's a wonderful piece that truly captures the ache of missing someone.
