Life, the Movie

Life, the Movie

A Poem by Thomas W Case

"
We talk about the
past like it's a
movie we
watched together.
You liked the
cinematography.
I didn't care for the
cruelty of the
protagonist.

We disagree on the
theme, and every
scene holds different
aspects of
symbolism for us.
I'm not sure I want
there to be a sequel,
despite the good
acting.

Great Work again Thomas, how you take the metaphor and extend it throughout the Poem. Like you, as far as most of my relationships are concerned, I have had quite enough for one lifetime. Really Excellent ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Thank you, Amanda.
Movies and relationship need a genre of their own, don't you think, sir Thomas? You're offering a slant often hidden behind thick curtains but here, above ^ there's a casual grin that says. 'Whatevah!'

Your way of thinking always reaches the tape first!

Mm. Yes. So much room in this that it can be read on any level, from personal, inter-personal, even existential-spiritualistically... Couched in a very accessible metaphor, and paced so well.
This piece is finely crafted, Thomas. (Par for the course!).
Always great quality visiting your posts. 🫶

Thank you, Lara. I appreciate this comment.
Only in the movies is everything perfect. Life, and the different views of it, seldom is.

My friend, I always appreciate how you get to the heart of the matter in your clearcut manner. I’m like you not interested in the sequel.

I appreciate your comments.
Wow! A journey of life's meaning as a movie of the past, that can be replayed with protagonists and antagonists.
I feel like Hollywood might come knocking.
