"
On the backs of
flies
we wait for the
next thing.
Something is
always coming.
A birth or death,
food or hunger
hatred
laughter
love...

Something is always
coming around the
corner.
The Mad Hatter with
mushroom tea.
A strange color of
blue that tastes like
almonds.
A vagina that sparkles
in the night.

Listless mornings
of languid
walks with the
wife in the cool
of the evening.

A knife in the back,
a shark attack,
or maybe, just
possibly, you write
a poem about
waiting for the
next thing.

This is a cheeky verse and I couldn’t help smirking while reading. Given the times we find ourselves in perhaps a cup of that wacky tea would do wonders for the collective mood.

Lol. Thank you. I appreciate it.
There were some smiles reading this Thomas. Great read. So true, there is always something round the corner. Let’s hope for a touch of heaven rather than hell lol.

Absolutely. Thank you, Chris.
Actually, I could deal with waiting for a sparkling vagina.

Thomas,
You know how they say we are greater than the sum of our parts? It's the same with poetry...every time! When I come back tomorrow we'll have both changed.

So very true. Thank you.
Great Work again Thomas, and I like the way that this Poem turns back upon itself, like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Exceptional ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
