A long time ago when I was a teenager, I had a wonderful, tender-hearted girlfriend. She was patient. I was wide awake, and green as a frog.
She said, don't rub it so hard, you will hurt it. Think of it as a new toy you discovered. It's small, and you need to be careful. It isn't a pimple that you are trying to pop.
I can still smell her hair, lilacs, and pond water. And on gentle summer nights, I hope someone is being kind to her love button.
I read my poetry on my YouTube channel from my recently published books: They are Seedy Town Blues Collected Poems, It's Just a Hop, Skip, and a Jump to the Madhouse, and Sleep Always Calls. They are available on Amazon.

The memory folds smooth into each line...the scent, the summer nights, the patient guidance. There’s a softness here that doesn’t need to be loud to be felt; it’s a careful, attentive kind of devotion, and it stays with the reader like a whisper.
Such a tender memory, Thomas. The care and gentleness in your words..small gestures and vivid senses..make the poem linger. It’s quiet, intimate, and deeply moving.
Nice Work again Thomas - thank G-d for those patient tender-hearted girls we first hooked up with - they were great tutors. Really Excellent ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
