Old age doesn't
come slowly, it
rages in like a
shattered dish.
I don't wish upon
stars in the pastures of
youth.
I rock and reflect on
the speedy hands of
the clock,
and wonder where
the last twenty
years went.

I don't know. I'm in my forties now. I'm saying my age because I'm kind of getting over it. people thinking I'm younger even in real life... even my sister is just one year younger than me and kids think she is in her twenties. I'm kind of just over life and just waiting for life to be done with.. so I can be with my true love in heaven, Jesus. This poem is beautiful and resonant, I should add but I really don't want to grow too old I couldn’t care for myself or become bitter and start lashing out at the young'uns haha

Great point of view. Humor is best with age.

I wonder about that too Thomas... times seems to move faster in my later years.... and suddenly, I'll be on my death bed...but I couldn't ask for a more quality of life than I have for the last ????? years!!!
Well done!

Stay in the present moment as much as possible, Thomas. Memories and anticipations are both unreal.

So relatable Thomas. I think the older I get the more It hurts to see the years and my youth disappear. I'm still twenty in my mind, but my body differs.

I hear you. Thanks.
Nice Work Thomas and you handle the subject well. But oh the crazy crazy things we did in our youth - let's hope we are somewhat wiser now. Really Excellent ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

I feel wiser, but it may be the senility talking.
Oh, I relate so much to these words Thomas. I’m gonna rock for as long as I can while that clock spins at speed.

Me too. Thanks, Chris.
Twenty years ago? Let's see, that was the seventies, right? I think we may exist in a time warp. I liked the seventies. I think I'll just stay there until I'm forced to leave.
