Doubt

Doubt

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya

I've wonder, who will save me
Everlasting life its free
As long if I believe
Come to church
And you will see
But ever day I'm blind
Because I can't find
What was promise
Yet around me people
Are dying and there's nothing,
I can do but cry.
Praying sloves nothing
Because I gave up,.
The element of surprise.
I'm left empty to believe
In something that wasn't mine.

Very emotional; I believe that we cannot count on being saved, unless one is very devout… we have to watch out for ourselves and not expect anyone to save us… people die every day but we cannot do much about it; we can be compassionate , but in the end
We must save ourselves.. well written and sad…
Warmly

I really like how raw and honest this is—it captures the struggle between faith and doubt beautifully. The line "I'm left empty to believe / In something that wasn't mine" really hits hard. Great job...

This piece is raw and deeply emotional. It captures a powerful sense of spiritual conflict and disillusionment that many people quietly wrestle with.

Thank you for sharing thoughts
When I think of the turmoil that religion has caused through the ages, I am right up there with the doubters. I never used to be, but sadly my faith has waned with the years. I wish it wasn’t so, but it is what it is. Your poem reflects my own sadness Mauricio.
