Born to beA Poem by Mauricio Montoya
Born on the day, when the dead
Who died in war we're honored Slap my a*s, woke up in a battle Doctor said he a boy, I had to wonder why I cried If they died, I'm surprised Because I am alive, yet. Being here remember best Of those who are gone. Told never forget, why. As a child then a boy, My parents didn't need, Me anymore, the world. I left sisters that came, Before me just to forget, What I never saw, blind. Never turn an eye, until. That day dad had died Father wasn't good All tears we're dried. We grown but children, We became old and hurt But our mother is with us Let us lick the wounds And come together As one, born again. © 2025 Mauricio Montoya |
