The Chains ............

The chains you put on my heart
Are finally weakening
They are almost brittle enough
For me to break free

Maybe I will have to wait a few more days
But then I will be free of you and your words
I don't need you anymore
I can do things on my own now

Soon you will be a distant memory
A sour memory at that
But that is a part of life

With every mistake
Or mistake in judgment
We learn that we shouldn't do it again
And yes it took me a couple of times
But I think I have learned my lesson this time
