i can do without
like
      pain
            stab
                    hurt
another four letter word
      to get under my skin
to try to break down the walls
pain is a
      four letter word
that remains
     after the love
                           is gone
stab like a knife
                        in the back
or a hand crushing the
                               heart
like a slap
          that awakens me
not unlike the thunder
                   in the night
or catching a lover
         in the arms of another
after the pain
         there's the hurt
                              that reminds me
that another piece of me
