you know me in your marrowA Poem by MaCayla Maebut why don't I know myself?4-7-15 You arrange yourself onto your bed, struggling to remember what you looked like in the past. It's troublesome enough when you can't even seem to remember what you did yesterday let alone five minutes ago. The only reminder of your previous skin is the bones that are left behind. All because that's the only thing that ever took effect for you. Left behind, by yourself, the slightest move makes you plug your ears. All you can hear is the snapping of your cartilage. Even though I still feel you in my marrow, I can't seem to feel you along my so called body. My hips slice along my arms, the sound sings me to sleep. Just a reminder of the skin that I killed off instead of myself. © 2015 MaCayla Mae |
