Cecilia Lisbon, Suicide #1A Poem by Trang VuInspired by the film/novel The Virgin Suicides. Will have 3 more additions to the miniseries.
She smiles with sorrow most serene,
Nightmares are her everyday dreams. There is a war inside her head that she is struggling to win. The flame that flickered in her eyes is slowly growing dim. She is somber in the sweetest sense. She plunged to her death and fell on the fence. The sharp metal spikes pierced her pale skin Her punishment for committing a sin Her heart stopped beating before she jumped. Long, long before they heard the thump, Maybe for about a year or two But nobody cared or had a clue. Nobody listened to her silent screams The urgency in her violent dreams. Dreams of deaths, foreshadowing sadness When she leapt, four shadows came to caress her"the shadows of the girls in white who were sad and tired of shallow life. © 2014 Trang Vu |
