While my bookshelf boast

a plethora of knowledge

of beats and rhymes

of cynics and swine

Not a single cover

will carry my name

For knowledge is free

and those novels penned naught by my hand

I share them with ease

Few in this generation

filled with gadgets and gizmos

Will be blessed with

the thick, heady scent

of the books on the shelf

at the local library
