Reinventing myself

I close my eyes and imagine 

a serpent, slithering 

through the metaphysical pathways

of my mind, tracing a constellation 

of explosions, firing impulsively. 

It slips beyond my influence, 

settles into the cracks 

and melts into the machine. 

I step into myself 

as revelation carries me

into a new era of being.
